Saturday Night Fire at DeKalb and Marshall Streets

Firefighters reportedly made quick work of a third floor apartment fire Saturday night.

The Norristown Fire Department (NFD) responded to a report of a fire in a third floor apartment on the 600 block of DeKalb Street just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Initial reports from the Breaking News Network indicated that a resident or residents could possibly be trapped in the building. Several neighboring companies also responded to assist NFD.

According to the NFD, crews from Quint 27, housed just down the block in Norristown Hose Fire Company, were able to bring the fire under control in under 15 minutes, limiting damage to the building.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
