UPDATE: Two Victims, No Suspects in Saturday Night Shooting

Police are now searching for one of the victims, who walked away from a Philadelphia hospital after being flown there for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds.

More details have emerged in the investigation of a shooting sometime before midnight on Saturday, Sept. 29 in the East End of Norristown.

Police were originally dispatched just after midnight to the 1000 block of DeKalb Street for a report of a shooting. On the scene, they encountered a 19-year-old black male lying on the ground in front of 1029 DeKalb Street. The male was reportedly conscious, but not alert and officers reported seeing blood on his sweatshirt.

When questioned about who might have shot him, the victim reportedly told police he didn't know and would only offer that the incident occurred on Green Street. The victim offered no additional information.

Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene to treat the young man and officers reportedly observed two apparent gunshot wounds – one to the back of the victim's right arm and another to the center of his lower back. Earlier reports of the victim sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to the chest were incorrect.

The victim was transported by medevac to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, but disappeared from the hospital shortly after arrival. The victim's condition is unknown and authorities are still searching for him in an effort to question him further.

At approximately 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, police were dispatched to Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton for a report of another victim with multiple gunshot wounds who claimed to have been shot in Norristown.

Initially the second victim, a 21-year-old black male, reportedly told authorities he could not provide any information about the shooting. According to police reports, officers then confronted him with details from the other shooting victim, and he told police that he and an unidentified friend were walking in the area of DeKalb and Elm streets when an unknown and unidentified suspect approached them and shot them for no reason.

According to the police report, the victim told police he could not identify the shooter and could not offer any reason why anyone would want to hurt him. The victim stated that the shooter did not demand any money or property before opening fire.

According to The Times Herald, police are still investigating a shooting in the 1000 block of DeKalb Street just before midnight on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The victim reportedly called police himself to report he'd been shot several times in the chest by an unknown black male who fled from the scene after the shooting. The unidentified victim was medevaced to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his condition is unknown at this time.
