School Bus Crash Sends Students to Hospital

A three-vehicle crash involving a school bus full of students and two passenger cars resulted in students and passengers of one car treated for minor injuries.

According to The Times Herald, an auto accident at Burnside Avenue and West Marshall Street in West Norriton this afternoon involving a school bus taking students to Norristown Area High School from the Renaissance Academy in Phoenixville and two passenger cars resulted in several students and two occupants of one of the vehicles being treated for minor injuries at and  hospitals.

According to authorities, the school bus was traveling north on Burnside Avenue just after 4 p.m. when it was hit by a blue car heading west on West Marshall Street. The driver of the blue car allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. That initial collision caused the bus to swerve into oncoming traffic and strike a vehicle headed south on Burnside Avenue.

Det. Sgt. Michael McGettigan told the Herald that "between four and five" students and two occupants of the unidentifed blue car where transported to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
