UPDATE: Schuylkill Avenue Shooting Victim in Hospital, No Arrests Made, Say Police

Police say that they await victim feeling somewhat better in the hospital before they interview him.

The victim of a shooting outside of the Riverside Apartments on Schuylkill Avenue in Norristown on Sunday is in stable and critical condition at a hospital, according to Norristown police.  

Police say they are waiting for him to feel somewhat better before they interview him. No arrests have been made as of early Monday afternoon.

A man is sought by authorities in Montgomery county after allegedly shooting a man, now critically injured, in the face on Sunday in the early morning hours in Norristown, according to WPVI 6abc.com.

The shooting is alleged to have happened in the Riverside Apartments parking lot, at the 100 block of Schuylkill Avenue, around 3 a.m.

A call to 911 was made to report a gunfire noise and police responded to that. The suspect, a driver, is said to have gone down a frontage road that was by Veterans Memorial Bridge and the apartments.

The driver exited his vehicle and retreated in the direction of the Schuylkill River. Though multiple police departments and firefighters looked for the suspect, he remains at large and the gun is not in the possession of law enforcement.

The victim was transported to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton and later to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, were he was in critical condition.
