UPDATE: Second Alleged Killer Named in Polen Death

Authorities say 18-year-old Andrew Tomlinson was the accomplice of Rontrey Wilkins, previously charged.

Authorities have arrested a second suspect in the Feb. 11 shooting death of 25-year-old Andrew Polen of West Norriton.

Andrew Tomlinson, 18, is accused of being the accomplice of .

According to authorities, Wilkins, Tomlinson and a third unidentified male allegedly conspired to rob Polen and a friend during an attempt to settle a drug debt. Polen was shot during the failed robbery attempt and later pronounced dead at Mercy Suburban Hospital.

An investigation of the shooting led authorities to Wilkins, who reportedly admitted his role in Polen's death when authorities interviewed him the next day. Wilkins is being charged with first-, second- and third-degree murder, robbery and related offenses.

The investigation into Wilkins' alleged involvement in the crime led authorities to Tomlinson, who also reportedly admitted his involvement. Tomlinson reportedly told authorities that he participated in the robbery, but did not fire the gun he used in the commissione of the crime.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman noted that while Tomlinson may not have intended to take a life, his involvement in the incident makes him responsible for Polen's death.

"Mr. Tomlinson was not out on the street to commit a murder," said Vetri Ferman. "He was helping a friend of his commit a robbery and certainly much less culpable in the general sense; but because he helped his friend commit a robbery and someone was killed during the course of the robbery, he now is facing murder charges."

Tomlinson has been charged with second- and third-degree murder, robbery and related offenses. He was arraigned Wednesday morning and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for noon on March 11 in district court.

Fry the piece of garbage and send his family the bill for the power it takes to kill this waste of space.

I understand this murder stemmed from a robbery, more than likely Mr. Tomlinson was in it for cosmetic surgery money, this guy really needs it.

I don't understand I grew up on the same block as this boy in Norristown. He was my first huge crush and kind of sort of my first crush. I remember so much about him and his family, I loved his mom and the video store she owned. I am so taken back that we both started at the same place and are in two completely different worlds. I'm about to graduate prep school and go to a great college, and here he is. My heart is broken. I hope he can turn around, and his family can manage.

This is a disgrace! the media has their way of portraying people why not put up a mug shot? Of course he looks crazy how would you feel getting arrested for something you didn't do!?!?! Fake ass gangsters want recognition for "committing crimes"but then can't take the aftermath wanna drag innocent "friends"into it! Bet you not one of the people on here talking about him know him personally! Know your facts before you speak!

Where can one go to find a peaceful existence, free of all these dangers lurking around every corner in Norristown? Is anyone angry that all the trees on Markley St. have been cut down? Why, to widen the street? Why is it being widened; to make a drag strip out of it? Another illustration of Norristown sinking lower and lower in stature.

LOL i just had to laugh at this comment!
Tree March 01, 2013 at 09:57 PM
@Lowlife ... I mean .. @datsme... You said it.. I didn't!! Lol Anyway .. Jokes aside This is a horrible situation. And it is sad to see people waste away to violence and animalistic behavior. It's also sad to see the way the media exploits people and situations with no regard. Also the community of Norristown has some substantial issues that need to be addressed by its concerned competant citizens if any... The Norristown government and police force are in dire straits pleading for public participation... I'm told the citizens are scared to step-up because they afraid of the political slandering. It's just a bad situation!!

Justice ia being served, but sometimes u don't regret things til u go threm. We interact with reformed people all the time and don't even know it. He committed a terrible crime, but the man killed was there for a heroin deal!! While he is obviously wrong for his action, this is a definite example of what the future holds for dealers.. if we can judge rontrey than we can judge everyone, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU INVOLVE DRUGS IN YOUR LIFE

there's 2 many guns on our streets ...
Music High April 03, 2013 at 12:49 AM
@ Mrz215 I knew the victim personally and details surrounding what had happened. No one was there to buy or sell heroin, just because Trey ended up being found with a multitude of it once arrested. There was never an intent to sell or buy heroin, no parties involved even had drugs or even money on them at the time. Just a gun, and an intent to use it. So "the man killed" was not there for a heroin deal. Do not assume.
