Serious Accident Closes Swede Road in East Norriton

Emergency personell are on the scene for a rescue operation.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety's live incident feed, authorities responded to the area of Swede Road and Evergreen Avenue at approximately 7:51 p.m. for a serious auto accident that required a rescue of at least one victim.

Details are few, but a witness on the scene provided Norristown Patch with pictures of what appears to be a two-car collision. One of the vehicles reportedly hit a utility pole.

Some residents in the direct vicinity reported via Facebook of having lost power for a few minutes around 8 p.m., but it is unclear if the two incidents are connected.
