Sexual Assault of a Local 7-Year-Old Nets Delaware Man 35 Years

John Angell, of Smyrna Del., was hired to chauffeur his 7-year-old victim from his father's home in Blue Bell to his mother in Plainview, N.Y.

A 41-year-old Delaware man is behind bars after being sentenced in federal court to 35 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old Blue Bell boy on 12 separate occasions.

According to the Philly.com, John Angell, of Smyrna, Del., was hired to transport the boy and a sibling between their mother's home in Plainview, N.Y. and their father's home in Blue Bell.

The father reportedly hired Angell in 2001 and employed him over a six year period to drive the children, according to court documents. During that time, Angell was occasionally alone with the 7-year-old on several occasions and sexually assaulted him while stopped at various rest areas between New York and Pennsylvania until sometime in 2007.

Angell was reportedly convicted in Nov. 2011 and sentenced on Thursday to 35 years in prison and 15 of supervised release. The judge also ordered Angell to pay a $2,200 special assessment and a $1,000 fine.

If he sexually assulted a child he should NEVER be free again. And to think he assulted someone that he was hired and trusted to transport makes the crime even worse. This little boy will probably have trust issues the rest of his life. I still stand by my belief that ANYONE who sexually assults a child should lose his , or hers freedom. Let them stay in prison there are plenty of chances for him to get his sexual needs fulfilled then.
