Stanbridge Street Apartment Fire Under Investigation, Says Fire Chief

Fire department personnel checked to make sure the fire had not spread.

The Norristown Fire Department responded to a fire on Jan. 2 in an apartment in a building on the 600 block of Stanbridge Street, which is still “under investigation,” according to the Norristown fire chief Thomas O’Donnell.

The fire, which was in a trash can in a rear, third floor bedroom, started around 10:01 p.m., and was extinguished upon arrival of the personnel.

The fire department personnel and the apartment’s occupant checked to make sure that the fire had not extended itself into floors, walls and other places. They also helped removed smoke from the building.
