Suspects in New Year's Day Robbery Arrested

Two Norristown men were arrested in seperate incidents and are being charged with the Jan. 1 crime.

According to the , two men being sought in connection with the were arrested recently in separate instances relating to additional crimes.

On New Year's Day, a 46 year-old Roslyn man, in Norristown to visit his parents, and his cousin were robbed at gunpoint on the 1000 block of DeKalb Street shortly after 4:30 a.m.

According to the Herald, the victims were in a neighboring apartment with two other men identified only as “Kevin” and “Clinton.” One of the men reportedly accused the Roslyn man of stealing $100 and began hitting him in the head, arm and leg with a hard plastic pipe.

When the Roslyn man ran outside, the two suspects produced guns and allegedly took $300, two cell phones and a hooded sweatshirt from the victims.

The suspects, later identified as Kevin Alexander and Clinton Brown, were reportedly arrested in separate incidents. Brown was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 7, on an active warrant while officers were conducting routine surveillance on a known drug location. Alexander was arrested during a traffic stop when officers found illegal drugs during a search of his person.

Brown faces robbery, firearm and drug charges while Alexander is being charged with robbery and criminal conspiracy.
