Teen Shot in Norristown, Allegedly by Male With a Bike, Police Say

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to 16-year-old being shot in his torso in Norristown on Wednesday.

Following a 911 call in regard to a 16-year-old male being shot at the intersection of Willow Street and Elm Street on Wednesday at 6 p.m., Norristown police arrived at Scott Alley at the 1000 block of Willow Street to investigate, according to The Times Herald.

According to Norristown Police Chief William Richet, the victim was in part in stable condition after a bullet had gone through his chest.

“He was able to tell us his name and how old he is when we arrived,” said Richet.

Richet told Patch.com that, as of this afternoon, police are still investigating the matter and an investigator plans to visit the victim in the hospital tomorrow.  Police could not interview the victim earlier as he apparently had a tube in his throat.

“He should be a little more alert now,” said Richet.  “We need to talk to him to find out exactly what happened.”
