Two Alarm Fire Damages Homes on Willow Street; Firefighter Injured

A two-alarm fire has damaged multiple homes along the 1000 block of Willow Street, near the intersection with East Elm Street.

The fire began shortly before 3 p.m., and was upgraded to a two-alarm fire shortly after 3 p.m., according to reports. A source informed Patch that the fire was accidentally set by roofers who were working in the area, but we have not been able to confirm that at this time.

A total of six homes have been damaged, with four being deemed total losses, according to The Times Herald. Emergency tones were sounded shortly after 3:30 p.m., requiring firefighters to exit the structure.

Crews remain on the scene at this time. One firefighter was reportedly taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. No other injuries have been reported.

The location is several blocks from the gathering area for tonight's National Night Out. There is no word if the fire scene will have any impact on the planned festivities.

Bridgeport, Goodwill, Norristown, Norriton and Plymouth fire companies are on the scene. Member of the Philadelphia Red Cross are helping the families who have been displaced by the fire.We will continue to update this breaking story as information becomes available.
