Two Men Injured, One Man in Custody in Thursday Night Shooting

Details are still forthcoming, but at least one suspect is in custody and two men suffered gunshot wounds to the leg.

, Norristown Police were dispatched to the area of East Spruce and Green streets for a report of shots fired at approximately 10:30 p.m. While en route to the scene, officers were informed that approximately 10 to 12 shots were heard and there was at least one victim shot and sitting on the corner. There were also informed of another victim shot lying in the street.

Police were also given a description of two suspects alleged to be involved in the shooting – two black males, one wearing a black shirt and khaki pants and the other wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

On the scene, officers discovered one victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his right calf. According to reports, the bullet passed through the leg and shattered the man's bone.

Officers also encountered three males reportedly arguing in the street, one of whom had a gunshot wound to his right leg. One of the men was reportedly yelling, "Yo, you shot my brother!" at a third male wearing a white t-shirt and jeans who fit the description given to police of one of the shooters. Police took the suspect into custody, and charges are pending.

The nature of the argument that led to the shooting is still unknown, and one of the men at the scene, identified as the brother of one of the victims, reportedly said, "It wasn't supposed to go down like that."

The first victim was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment. The second victim was transported to Paoli Hospital by Plymouth Ambulance Company.

Police recovered several bullet fragments and casings from the scene, including four .22 caliber shells and a 9mm shell. They also reportedly took a silver kitchen knife from one of the victims. All of the items were placed into evidence.

No information is available on the still unidentified second suspect in the shooting. The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a black shirt and khaki pants.
