UPDATE: Juvenile Charged With Assault in Connection With Kohn Street Stabbing

A fight between two teen girls erupted into a brawl that left a 12-year-old boy in the hospital with a stab wound.

that sent a 12-year-old boy to the hospital by medevac. Reports came in just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 18, that a victim with a stab wound in the back was flown by PennSTAR to a Philadelphia-area trauma center from the the area of Kohn Street and Marshall Street in Norristown.

Authorities later confirmed that the incident was the result of a fight between several juveniles and one is currently facing charges stemming from the incident.

According to The Times Herald, the trouble began when a 15-year-old Bridgeport girl visiting her boyfriend on the 700 block of Kohn Street got into a fight with a 15-year-old Norristown girl in the middle of the street in the area of Oak and Kohn streets.

The 12-year-old brother of the Norristown girl began fighting with the boyfriend of the Bridgeport girl and during the scuffle, the boyfriend, who is 14, got the younger boy in a bear hug and stabbed him in the back with a kitchen knife.

The boy was flown by medevac to a Philadelphia-area trauma center and his condition is currently unknown, but he was reportedly conscious and alert when he was flown from the scene.

The actor in the incident was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of an instrument of crime and is reportedly being held in a juvenile detention center.

According to the Herald, the other three juveniles were cited for disorderly conduct.
