UPDATE: Upper Merion Baby Still Missing, Grandmother Identified as Murder Victim

Authorities say the child was abducted and her 61-year-old grandmother was murdered.

Multiple news outlets are confirming that Upper Merion and Pennsylvania State Police are still searching for 10-month-old Saavni Venna after she was abducted from the Marquis Apartments in the 200 block of W. Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 22.

According to NBC10, police have confirmed that the murder victim found at the scene was Saavni's 61-year-old grandmother, Satyavathi Venna, who was baby-sitting at the time. Police issued an Amber Alert after the father returned home later in the day and realized the child was missing.

Police are still searching for the child and are not releasing any additional information about the crime.

According to Fox 29, Saavni's father made an emotional plea for help in the return of his child.

"If someone finds my baby," he said, "could you please bring my baby back?"

The fact that it is an apartment complex and a rather large one with multiple buildings makes a home invasion illogical. If we are going to speculate, the fact that the parents of the child have only been in the USA for five years and have moved long distances several times suggests that someone back in India was looking for him. When this is the case they often watch the relatives also in hopes they will lead them to the person. The fact that this happened after the husband's mother came from India suggests that to me. The husband may have owed money to someone in India. I have heard that in African countries if you owe too much money they send people to kill you. Some parts of India are also violent. We in America don't always understand such things.

KR, It is very common here that many indians work as IT consultants and move to different project(even to a different state sometimes) when the current project ends. Their work visa does not allow them to stay without work and that is the reason they move from place to place if they cannot find any work where they stay. And also it is very common for the grand parents to visit the families to spend time with grand children whenever then can.

Dang! I wish I read this when it was posted. I would have loved this opportunity! I know a girl atRead More NAHS who just started a club called F.L.O. (For Ladies Only). The discuss fashion, beauty, etc. If they knew about this they could have fund raised to be apart of this. Being that its one month away, I doubt $750 will be just lying around. I hope Harcum will offer this next summer as well, it's a great school and a wonderful opportunity to get the skills needed to survive in the Fashion Merchandising realm of College.
