Warrant for Drug Felonies Issued Against Missing Lansdale Man

Lansdale Police continue their effort to find 38-year-old Joseph Sarni, and have issued an arrest warrant for numerous alleged drug offenses.

While Lansdale Police have issued an arrest warrant in his absence charging him with felony and misdemeanor drug possession and dealing offenses.

Lansdale Police released the following statement following the issuance of the arrest warrant:

A number of our officers know Joe through the local businesses he worked for. Though an arrest warrant has been issued, our primary focus is to continue to investigate Joe’s recent disappearance and ensure his safe return.

The warrant charges Sarni with the following narcotics offenses:

  • Felony Possession with Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance
  • Four counts of Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Misdemeanor Possession With Intent To Use Drug Paraphernalia
  • Misdemeanor Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana
  • Misdemeanor Receipt in Commerce

In June 2012, Lansdale Police received information that Sarni was allegedly selling cocaine, marijuana and narcotics in the borough. Officers made controlled buys of cocaine and Suboxone, a controlled substance that is used for the treatment of people addicted to opiates like heroin and painkillers, from Sarni, police said.

As a result of those purchases, a search warrant was issued for Sarni's apartment on the 500 block of Walnut Street, police said. Police served the warrant on June 29.

According to police, drugs and paraphernalia including cocaine and Suboxone were seized in Sarni's apartment and were analyzed by an independent laboratory.
