West Norriton Police Seeking Witnesses to Tuesday Morning Accident

A man was struck by a car at West Main and Schuylkill Avenue Tuesday morning and police are asking the public's help in the investigation.

According to NBC10, are seeking the public's help in their investigation into a Tuesday morning accident that has one man hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities say a woman in a dark blue Dodge Caliber was driving east on West Main when she hit a 50-year-old West Norriton man as he was crossing the street at 6:50 a.m. The woman reportedly stopped at the scene and called police to report the accident, but no one else stopped to help or called anyone.

Police are hoping that someone saw the accident and will have information that could help with the investigation. So far the woman who is the subject of the investigation is the only witness.

"She claims she went though on the yellow light," West Norriton Police Chief Robert Adams told NBC. "We don't know."

The injured man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently listed in critical condition.

West Norriton Police provided still photos of the scene to spur any potential witness to act. Police are asking anyone who may have seen the accident or have any information about the incident to call them at 610-630-0977.
