Woman Parks Car and Finds Her Brakes May Have Been Tampered With, Say Police

A Norristown woman left her car in a lot overnight and found it to have faulty brakes the next day, which a mechanic said someone had meddled with, according to a police report.

A Norristown woman parked her car overnight and when she returned the next day she found that the car’s brakes may have been tampered with, police say.

A Norristown woman told police that, on Sept. 16, around 1 p.m., she parked her car in a lot near her home on the 600 block of East Marshall Street according to a police report . When she returned to her vehicle around 9 a.m. the next morning, she saw that the car’s brakes did not work well and it was leaking brake fluid, say police.

The woman asked a man who said that he was a retired mechanic with over 30 years of experience to examine her car, say police. The mechanic told police that the bolts that retained the brakes line were loose, and that it was his professional opinion that someone had meddled with or harmed the brake line, according to the report.
