A woman was the victim of an East Airy Street robbery in Norristown where two men allegedly forced her to the ground by yanking on her hair, then stealing her purse and phone, say police.
Norristown police went to East Marshall Street and DeKalb Street on Sept. 26 around 11 p.m. to speak to the alleged victim of a theft, according to a Norristown police report. The female victim told police that, about 10 minutes before, she was walking on the zero block of East Airy Street while talking on her phone when two African American men who looked to be about 25 to 30 years old, yanked her hair to force her down to the ground, police say.
She told police that they took her purse and phone, say police. The victim told police that the men looked to be about 6 feet tall, were thin, and wore jeans and dark sweatshirt hoodies with the hoods up, according to the report.
The victim told police that her bag is a black Coach brand purse and inside was her pink, white and green Coach wallet that held $30 in cash and some prepaid credit cards, say police. She told police that the telephone is a black Samsung Galaxy S4 inside of a black and purple case, say police.
