According to a release issued by the county, the Montgomery County Commissioners, representatives of the county’s transportation authority and Municipality of Norristown and Plymouth Township will take part in a ceremonial demolition of a house on Diamond Avenue in Norristown at 11:30 a.m. today, May 21.
The demolition signals the start of construction on the much-anticipated Lafayette Street Corridor Project that would extend the thoroughfare from Norristown to Plymouth and the Pennsylvania Turnpike and improve accessibility to Norristown.
Diamond Avenue is a short street that intersects Ridge Pike just east of the intersection with Conshohocken Road. Diamond runs from Ridge Pike to Conshohocken Road.
