Corbett Signs Bill Naming Albert Earl Momme Bridge, But Don't Tell Al!

House Bill 2345 designates the bridge over Stony Creek on Burnside Avenue in West Norriton as the "Albert Earl Momme Bridge."

UPDATE: State Rep. Mike Vereb is asking Al Momme's friends and well wishers to not mention the bridge naming to him just yet. Al's family apparently hasn't told him and Vereb's office is planning a grand unveiling a little later this summer to surpirse him. Let's all keep the secret.

Governor Tom Corbett signed Pa. House Bill 2345 on Thursday, July 5. The act designates the bridge over Stony Creek on Burnside Avenue (between Galbraith Lane and Alexander Drive) in West Norriton to be renamed as the Albert Earl Momme Bridge.

The bill has 40 sponsors, including state representatives Mike Vereb, Matt Bradford and Tim Briggs and honors Momme, a decorated World War II veteran, family man and West Norriton community leader.

You can download the full text of the bill and read more about Momme and his dedication to West Norriton in our PDF section.
