Council Meets Tonight to Discuss West End Parking, New Traffic Light

Council is slated to address some of the West End's parking issues as well as award a contract for a traffic light at West Airy and Noble streets.

Norristown Municipal Council . at . Among the topics on the agenda are ammendments to the parking rates on West Marshall Street and further discussion of public parking at Poley Park.

Council will also be awarding a contract to West Chester-based  to install a traffic light at West Airy and Noble streets, but first they'll entertain a motion to waive the 30-day waiting period required by the Responsible Contractor’s Ordinance.

Under public safety, there's a motion before council to approve a resolution establishing guidelines for police making warrantless arrests and a motion to waive Norristown's open container rule for one day in anticipation of the beer garden planned for the May 19 bike race. The race is part of Norristown's Bicentennial Celebration.
