Council to Name Interim At-Large Councilperson in Special Friday Meeting

Dwayne Royster stepped down from the seat on April 5 and council is charged with naming an interim replacement until the November general election.

The municipality announced the Norristown Municipal Council will hold a special meeting at 6:30 pm. on Friday, May 3 at Norristown Municipal Hall, 235 Est Airy Street, to name an interim replacement for former At-Large Councilmember .

Council is being tight-lipped about its choice to replace Royster, but Council President Gary Simpson told Patch that council is considering several people to fill the position. Council is expected vote the interim replacement in at Friday's meeting.

The announcement from the municipality also stated that council may consider "other business that may properly come before [it.]"

would like to take a shot at the position. i ran a non-profit for 6 years and would like to rebuild Norristown back to what is was. We need to work with local businesses and neighborhoods to affect change. We can clone several programs and create youth centers for education. Computer Education to youth, Taxes, the crime rate, I live in Norristown and believe in its reform. I stand for a change and Norristown needs to grow and prosper as a community.

You'd have to go back to pre-WWII to rebuild Norristown. Been a sespool since.

Tight lipped or a secret. Since when do public servants have the right to be silent. Oh I forgot its a grimey group. Waiting for the payoff. @ Big Jon u r right Fire them all May 21. Take back our town of curruption.

Oh and you heard it from me first, Royster dont even live in Norristown. He lives in Philly. He felt da heat and bounced. What a grimey group of losers. Step down or put it on blast.
