County Highlighting Drug Disposal Program

All drugs will be destroyed in a legally and environmentally friendly way, the District Attorney's Office said.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is April 26, and to mark the event Montgomery County is highlighting the District Attorney's County Prescription Drug Disposal Program

"Prescription drug abuse, which continues to rise among teens, often starts with taking their parent’s (or other’s) unwanted or unused medications," The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said. "Therefore, prompt disposal of these drugs remains one of the most effective and simple ways to prevent abuse by our young adults. The District Attorney’s County Prescription Drug Disposal Program was established to directly address this danger."

There are 22 places around the county where residents can safely and legally dispose of old prescription medication at no charge.
