Norristown Finance Director Says He is Still on Leave

Norristown Finance Director Richard Zawisza confirmed to Patch on Friday that he is still on paid administrative leave from his Municipal Hall position.

Zawisza, who was appointed four years ago, went on leave earlier this month. “The end to the story is that it’s a personnel matter,” he said. 

He would not otherwise comment on the matter.

Neither Norristown municipal council president Gary Simpson nor municipal administrator Crandall Jones addressed the issue when asked to earlier this week, other than stating that they could not comment on the issue, which was a personnel issue.

Rochelle Rawlins, the deputy financial director, is currently heading the finance department in Zawisza’s absence, according to The Times Herald.
