Norristown Police Hosting Free Shred Day & Pill Take Back on Saturday

Clear out your old files and your medicine cabinet in one shot this Saturday.

The Norristown Police Department is hosting a free this Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Airy Street parking lot at , 235 East Airy Street.

The Federal Trade Commission estimates that nearly 9 million Americans are affected by identity theft each year, and the police want to help make sure that Norristown residents are protected. Residents and business owners are invited to bring their sensitive documents and files to dispose of completely in an industrial shredder.

What kind of documents are we talking about?

  • Bank statements
  • Receipts
  • Old tax forms
  • Medical forms
  • Insurance records
  • Personal documents

No need to worry about staples or paper clips, but make sure to remove all binders and notebooks from your pile of materials to be shredded. 

Pill Take Back

Norristown Police are also providing residents with an opportunity to surrender expired, unwanted or unused prescription drugs and other medications for destruction.

This program is absolutely anonymous – there will be no questions or requests for identification.
