Norristown School Board Elects New Officers

The board appointed a new president and vice president and set the 2013 meeting schedule.

According to The Times Herald, the Norristown Area School Board elected new officers for 2013 at a Monday, Dec. 3 reorginization meeting. 

Board members Pamela Assenmacher and Iva Ferrell were unanimously elected president and vice president respectively. They replace President Denice Ashe and VP E. Pearl Smith.

Assenmacher thanked both Ashe and Smith for the years of service and said she was looking forward to giving back to the community in her role as school board president.

"It is a privilege, as a Norristown Area High School graduate from the Class of 1981, to give back to my school and community through my service as an elected School Board Director and now as Norristown Area School District school board president for the 2013 term," said Assenmacher, according to the Herald. "I am honored to serve in such a capacity and have high expectations for our school board, our students and our great Norristown community."
