Norristown Teen Honored by Freedom Valley for Service to Community

Sarah Rose, of Norristown, received the 2013 Freedom Valley Award for Community Service at the Norristown Area High School.

A Norristown teen is amongst three area students who have been honored with a Freedom Valley Award for their service to the community.  

Sarah Rose, of Norristown, received the 2013 Freedom Valley Award for Community Service at the Norristown Area High School. 

One of the top 10 students in her senior class, Rose participated in a variety of school and community activities, including the tennis team, the Breast Cancer Awareness Club, the National Honor Society and the Eagle of Nature / Environmental Club.

She also participated in civic activities at the Mercy Suburban Hospital Summer Volunteer Program, Elmwood Park Zoo, and East Norriton Day.   

Rose will be attending Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in the fall, with a major in Pre-Med / Geriatrics.
