Viewfinder: ACLAMO's Even Start Graduation

Thirteen toddlers and their mothers graduated from ACLAMO's Even Start program today.

Families and community members gathered at Calvary Baptist Church this morning to cheer the latest batch of graduates from ACLAMO's Even Start program.

The program is designed to "prepare English language learner preschoolers and their parents to enter and succeed in Norristown Area School District’s standard’s based, full-day kindergarten program."

Among the well-wishers today were Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman, Norristown Area School District Superintendent Dr. Janet Samuels, and Carlos Giralt-Cabrales, the Consul General of Mexico in Philadelphia.

The audience was treated to several musical numbers and colorful costumes representing the diversity of several Mexican states.

What in God's name is ACLAMO? Fewer abbreviations and acronyms, please; you don't want people saying "Oh, they're as bad as the News Herald!"
