Phillies second baseman Chase Utley will play a rehab assignment with the Iron Pigs at Coca-Cola Park Allentown Tuesday night. Unfortunately for Utley fans willing to make the trek, the game is sold out at the news of the major leaguer in town.
Utley has missed the whole season so far because of problems with his left knee. He played second base for the Clearwater Threshers on Friday and Saturday, showing that his rehabilitation is drawing to a close. Some reports say Utley could be back playing with the Phillies as early as Wednesday.
Tonight's game will start at 7:05 p.m. and opens a 12-game home stand for the Pigs. Lucky fans who managed to score tickets will also be treated to a John Mayberry Jr. bobblehead given to the first 3,000 fans 18 and older.
