Press Release:
Tuesday night at the Jeffersonville Golf Club, Norristown area residents from all types of political and non-political backgrounds came together for one noble cause.
Citizens for Liberty, a local non-partisan political group hosted a FREE town-hall style meeting. With over 100 attendees, their goal was well achieved.
There were Republicans sitting next to Democrats, Libertarian Party members sitting next to the Green Party, and Independents sitting right next to the Constitution Party. Citizens for Liberty has officially destroyed the left/right paradigm and has brought the community together.
This meeting was hosted by Citizens for Liberty Co-Founders Steve Piotrowski and Jackie Piotrowski. They spoke about the alarming rise of the police-state, the shredding of our Constitution, and why we must stop the NDAA (National Defense Authorazion Act). The group always meets the 3rd week of each month, and is free to like-minded individuals.
Norristown was honored to have Senator Mike Folmer come and speak about his bill (SB 999, the Liberty Preservation Act) that will help stop the NDAA in Pennsylvania. Under the National Defense Authorization Act, U.S. military can arrest U.S. Citizens without any charges (or evidence), they can do it secretly (Just disappear you), and they can hold you indefinitely with No right to a trial.
The Senator also spoke briefly about another bill that he introduced in the PA. Senate to protect peoples privacy from unwarranted surveillance by unmanned drones.
Citizens for Liberty gave attendees pre-stamped postcards so they can mail their local Senator and encourage them to support SB 999, and they are asking all area residents to do the same.
The group is hoping that local Senator's John C. Rafferty (R) and Daylin Leach (D) will support this bill. They also sent a letter to Sheriff Eileen Behr asking her to use the power of the Sheriff's Office to say no to the NDAA in Montgomery County, but they are still waiting for a response.
Steve Piotrowski, Co-Founder of the group says, "It is our elected officials duty to protect the Constitutional rights of their constituents."
