Italy Trip Planned by Montgomery County Organization

The public is welcome to come along with The Regional Association of Campania.

The food. The canals. The art. The history. Whatever your reason for going, Italy can make a wonderful vacation destination. One Montgomery County-based organization is planning such a trip for this summer.

The Regional Association of Campania in PA (RAC) will host a trip to Italy this year, and all are invited to come along for the ride.

According to the website, RAC was founded in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pa. in 2000 to "enhance, promote, educate and augment the diffusion of Italian Culture in collaboration with the culture and tourism of the Campania Region."

The organization will be leading a two-week trip for the summer months.

"Join Us For A 15 Day Trip To Italy," said the site. "This year’s trip to Italy will be from June 27 to July 11, 2013 and will include a trip to:

• Montella

• Amalfi coast

• Capri

• Sorrento

• Padre Pio (Pietrelcina BN)

• Puglia (Alberobello)

• Florence

• Rome

What’s included in the trip?

"Round trip airfare, bus transportation to and from all airports (both in the USA and Italy), hotel accommodation and continental breakfast every day," said the group's page. "The cost for members is $3600 per person (double occupancy) or $4000 per person (single room). Nonmembers please add $200 per person."

The trip's balance is due by April 19. Trip insurance is highly recommended by RAC. All deposits and balance payments are non-refundable otherwise. For more information call 610-275-3245.

The RAC group became an non-profit 13 years ago.

"In November 2000, we became a non-profit organization and since then have spearheaded numerous events such as concerts, picnics, trips to Italy, benefit receptions, and awarded scholarships," said the organization's Facebook page. "We have spearheaded the project of the building of the Monument to the Emigrants of the Campania region in Montella (AV), Italy."
