Norristown Rec. Committee’s MLK “‘Living the Dream’” Awards Coming Jan. 20

It is a time to honor those who give to the Norristown community.

The Norristown Recreation Committee’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. “Living the Dream” Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, where community volunteers who have gone above and beyond will be honored for their good works.

It will be held in Municipal Hall in Norristown at 6 p.m. The honorees, Theresa Oliver, who is the Executive Director of the Literacy Council of Norristown, and Steve Ferguson, who actively volunteers to help local youth, will receive a special plaque, and $250 will be donated to their charity of choice.

“It’s an uplifting upbeat event, to celebrate people who have done special community things and for people to recognize them,” said a representative from the Recreation Committee.
