Norristown Voices Hit the Airwaves on WHYY

The NPR program Morning Edition featured an inspiring story of a partnership born in Norristown.

Regular listeners of WHYY are probably familiar with the National Public Radio program Morning Edition and some may even be familiar with the regular StoryCorps interviews that are featured every Friday.

If you were listening last week, you would have heard the story of Norristown businessmen Craig Williams, CEO of Pride Enterprises, Inc., a building and construction management firm based in Norristown, and Iraq War veteran Richard Bennett who, with Williams' help, started his own company – Fidelis Design and Construction right here in Norristown.

Williams and Bennet described their unusual partnership for StoryCorps, an independent nonprofit whose mission is to record, share and preserve the stories of Americans of all walks of life. According to the group's website, StoryCorps has recorded and archived more than 30,000 interviews from more than 60,000 people. Each conversation is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind.
