PAL's Annual International Food & Wine Festival Slated for Thursday

It's considered by some to be the party of the year for Norristown-area residents (possibly rivaled only by the Elmwood Park Zoo's Oktoberfest) and it's happening tonight.

The Greater Norristown Police Athletic League's 12th Annual International Food & Wine Festival takes over the Plymouth Country Club at 888 Plymouth Road with almost two dozen local eateries and vendors offering food, wine, drinks and live entertainment to supporters of PAL.

The event runs Thursday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. and tickets are only $50. You can purchase tickets at the door or on the organization's website. Proceeds go to support the organization and it's mission to "serve the youth and families of the Greater Norristown community with recreational, educational, and cultural programs addressing citizenship, self-esteem, avoidance of substance abuse, and respect for law and order."

Special guest Don Tollefson will be on hand to emcee the event and live auction and live music will keep festival goers in a party mood all night long.

"The community should really get behind this PAL effort because the tickets are really worth it," Four Seasons Banquet Hall owner Victor Morris told The Times Herald. "They’re going to really get their money’s worth three times over and it’s giving back to PAL. We do a full buffet of six entrees and I bring my whole staff in to serve the people. Some folks bring one or two items but I bring a whole buffet."

Morris is returning to the event for the sixth year in a row.
