A Chili Cook-off Content and Free Memory Screening This Week

A look at a few of the events this week in the Norristown area.

Tuesday: for National Memory Screening Day, the Senior Adult Activities Center (SAAC) of Montgomery County will hold free and confidential memory screenings in their Norristown center starting at 10:30 a.m. The Alzheimer's Foundation of America spearheads National Memory Screening Day as an initiative to help with early detection, according to the foundation’s website.

Thursday: Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown is partnering with the American Cancer Society to help people in the community stop their tobacco use with the annual Great American Smokeout. From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. there will be giveaways and literature given out to help people quit their tobacco use.  

Friday & Saturday: The Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church in East Norriton will hold their annual Christmas Bazaar organized by the St. Paul Women’s Guild. There will be treats like homemade soups and roast beef, baked goods, their special hand-crafted candy, “attic treasures,” games, Santa and more. It runs 5-9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday: the Upper Merion Farmers Market Committee is sponsoring a Chili Cook-off Contest that will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Judges will choose the winners and guests can taste the concoctions for $5. There is a registration form required, which is found on the site HERE.
