Montco’s Holiday Lighting Ceremony and ‘English is Fun!’ Hour This Week

A look at a few of the events this week in the Norristown area.

Monday: the Montgomery County Commissioners will kick off the holiday season by lighting the county Christmas tree, the Hanukkah menorah and the Kwanzaa kinara at 5 p.m. on the plaza level of the Montgomery County Courthouse, overlooking Main Street in Norristown.

Wednesday: Jim Spiegle of Clarifi will show people how to better understand credit cards and the issues associated with them at the Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County in their Norristown office at 10:30 a.m. 

Wednesday: the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library in Norristown will host an ‘English is Fun!’ interactive hour to help children learn English or to improve their English with games, music and fun conversation. Children ages 3 to 6 are welcome with a caretaker.

Wednesday: the Norristown Little League will host a girls' softball clinic at the Greater Norristown Police Athletic League’s (GNPAL) in Norristown where girls ages 7 to 18 who are Norristown residents can come and play. No experience is necessary. From 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Friday: Mirthful Angel Pottery Studio in Norristown is holding their Open House and Holiday Sale. It will begin at 9 a.m. with demonstrations, food to munch on and more. It will feature work from Marlene Serafine Gaudio.
