The Norristown Library Company was founded in 1794 as a private collection from 90 area families. In 1968, it merged with the Montgomery County Free Library. In addition to book loans, the library's services and amenities include computer and Internet use, public meeting rooms, photocopiers, bookmobiles, books by mail, videos and DVDs, children's story hour, and children's after-school clubs.
