The suspects were reportedly taken into custody by Philadelphia Police Sunday morning.
Patch readers reported a shooting at the American Best Value Hotel in the 800 block of West Main Street in Norristown early Sunday morning. According to 6ABC Action News, the shooting was in connection with a robbery in front of the hotel at approximately 1:20 a.m. The victim was approached by three men in front of the hotel and during the course of the robbery, one of the men fired a shotgun and the shot grazed the victim's head. The three robbers then fled the scene in a green Volkswagon Jetta Norristown authorities notified Philadelphia Police who located the vehicle and took the men into custody. At least one individual police say is involved in a recent armed robbery in Norristown is currently in custody and a warrant is being issued for second individual.
A string of armed robberies that has plagued the Norristown area in recent weeks may be coming to end. Norristown Police Detective Lt. Michael Crescitelli told Patch that one person is currently in custody and being charged in connection with the March 15 robbery of Arianitas Mini Market at 1353 Markley Street. A second suspect has also been identified and a warrant is being issued for his arrest, Lt. Crescitelli said. "These two individuals will most likely be charged in numerous armed commercial robberies that occurred in Norristown and surrounding townships," Lt. Crescitelli wrote in an email to Patch. Another armed robbery committed by two men the police suspect may be responsible for other recent hold-ups.
Norristown police are investigating another armed robbery, this time of the Sunoco A-Plus at West Main Street and Haws Avenue. According to Detective Lt. Michael Crescitelli, two men dressed in back hooded sweatshirts and wearing black masks entered the store at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20 and brandished a gun. The men reported demanded money and fled the scene, making off with an undetermined amount of cash. Police are investigating the possibility that the robbers are the same two responsible for a string of recent armed robberies in the Norristown area. Police believe a Friday night shots fired incident in the area of Lafayette and Knox streets may be related to a robbery at the nearby hotel shortly later.
Norristown Police are investigating another armed robbery that occurred on Friday, this time at America's Best Value Inn at 830 West Main St. An officer on routine patrol in the 900 block of Rich Alley Friday night reported hearing three gunshots at approximately 9:09 p.m. in the area of Lafayette and Knox streets. Police responded to the area, but found no victims or witnesses and no evidence of a shooting. At 9:23 p.m., officers responded to the America's Best Value Inn for a report of a robbery. The victims, three men who were staying in the hotel, told police they had hired a prostitute to meet them in their room. Only recently opened, Arianitas Mini Market at Markley and Fornance became the latest victim Friday night of a pair of armed stick-up men operating in the Norristown area.
Arianitas Mini Market, at 1353 Markley Street, had only been open a few weeks Friday night when it became the latest victim in a string of armed robberies in the Norristown area that police believe are being carried out by the same two men. According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, officers responded to Arianitas at approximately 8:14 p.m. on Friday, March 15, for a report of an armed robbery in progress. Police are reportedly investigating an armed robbery at another area gas station Thursday night.
Patch readers are reporting Norristown Police and EMS are on the scene at the Citgo Gas Station in the Astor Shopping Center in the 1700 block of Markley Street Thursday night. Police have confirmed that two armed men robbed the station and customers inside the store and fled on foot. Early reports from readers and scanner chatter describe the men as two black male suspects in ski masks. The cashier of the store may have been pistol whipped during the robbery. Police are still investigating at the scene. Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

Norristown Police are investigating a series of armed robberies Sunday night, both involving two armed men, and an earlier shots fired report. It's unclear if the events are connected.
According to Norristown's Interim Police Chief Willie Richet, his department is investigating two armed robberies that have been reported within an hour of one another on the east side of town between 8 and 9 p.m. Sunday night. More than an hour earlier, officers were investigating a report of shots fired in the area of 800 Green St. County radio reports sometime around 8:30 p.m. indicated the Getty Service Station at 301 East Johnson Highway was robbed by two armed black males who stole an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot. That report was followed less than 30 minutes later by a report of another armed robbery, this time of a grocery store in the area of DeKalb and Jacoby streets. Police say two armed men made off with over $1,300 on Wednesday night in Norristown.
Two men—one of whom was armed—are wanted for robbing three people Wednesday night at Alexa's Mexican Market on West Main Street, according to reports from the Norristown Police Department. Officers responded to the shop at 516 West Main St. at approximately 8:11 p.m. and spoke with the three victims, who said two men allegedly pulled a silver revolver on them and demanded money. The men collected a total of $1,380 from two different victims and from the store's register and fled the scene, heading south on Chain Street. None of the victims were harmed during the incident. Two armed men held up the Exxon gas station at West Main and Forrest Avenue on Saturday night.
Neighbors in area of West Main Street and Forrest Avenue were alarmed Saturday night by the sight of multiple police cars responding to the Exxon Service Station. Officers were observed taping off the scene and reportedly remained at the location for some time. According to a report from the West Norriton Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 1401 West Main Street at approximately 8:44 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.
