An argument that escalated into a vehicular assault and shots being fired resulted in at least one man hospitalized and another in custody.
An argument between two men turned violent on Friday morning when one man tried to run down the other with his car and the victim fired shots at his assailant's vehicle. According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, officers responded to the 300 block of East Basin Street at approximately 9:47 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 for a report of a pedestrian struck and shots fired in that area. Police arrived and found the victim who reported that he had been inside his home when he heard a car horn followed by banging on his front door. After a robber accosted and beat the owner of Fern Rock Market Deli and made off with the store's proceeds, the victim jumped in his car and gave chase.
According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, a local store owner managed to foil a robbery attempt after chasing down the alleged perpetrator and hitting him with his car. Norristown Police responded to the area of Penn and Cherry streets at approximately 6:21 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, for a report of a disturbance. On the scene, officers encountered witnesses who reportedly stated that they heard someone calling for help and observed a silver SUV apparently chasing a man running eastbound on Penn Street. A 53-year-old woman was transported to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery Saturday night for treatment of a stab wound to the stomach.
According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, a Norristown woman was transported from a corner store in the West End to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery on Saturday, after she was allegedly stabbed in the stomach by her boyfriend. Police responded to Adelita's Mexican Market on the 300 block of West Marshall Street shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 for a report of a stabbing. On the scene, officers interviewed the victim, a 53-year-old Norristown woman, who told police she was stabbed by her boyfriend minutes earlier. According to a report from the Norristown Police Department, a man was flown to a Philly-area hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during a robbery in the West End Monday night. Officers responded to the 00 block of Hamilton Street shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, for a report of an assault victim at that address. On the scene, police spoke with a 40-year-old man who told them he was walking home from a store in the area of West Washington and Noble streets when he heard what sounded like footsteps behind him. Two Norristown men were taken into custody and a woman transported to the hospital by helicopter following an assault on Monday night.
According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, police responded to the area of Haws Avenue and West Airy Street shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday night for a report of an assault that left a woman injured and lying on the ground. On the scene, officers discovered the victim, a 45-year-old Norristown woman, sitting on the on the sidewalk in the 600 block of West Airy Street, reportedly bleeding heavily from a head wound. The victim told police that her assailant, 21-year-old Timothy Byrd, "hit her in the head with a big stick" and then ran inside his residence on the 300 block of Haws Avenue. Randy "Bobcat" Williams was discovered injured late Sunday night in Norristown and later declared dead.
According to Norristown Police Chief Russel Bono, police are investigating the death of a Norristown man that occurred in the 100 block of East Marshall Street just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4. Family members of Randy "Bobcat" Williams gathered at the police station Monday morning to get answers in what they believe was an assault that led to his death. Rumors of the alleged beating had spread through the community overnight. "It was not an assault according to the report," said Chief Bono. "We're certainly going to investigate it. It's a death under suspicious circumstances." A Norristown man and Conshohocken woman were arrested after allegedly trying to run down officers attempting to question them. An officer fired one shot in the incident.
According to The Times Herald, two people are in custody and facing a host of charges after they allegedly attempted to run down police who were attempting to question them about a "shots fired" call in the area. Twenty seven-year-old Edward Oney III, of West Marshall Street and 23-year-old Jennifer Orzech, of Palmer Road in Conshohocken, were parked on the corner of Basin and DeKalb streets shortly after 3 a.m. on Monday morning, Oct. 20, when an officer approached them to question them about a "shots fired" call and several reckless driving calls they had received in the area. A Norristown man and his girlfriend were found in bad shape after a reported spat on Pawlings Road in Phoenixville.
According to Lower Providence Police, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, officers responded to the 1500 block of Pawlings Road in Phoenixville for an unknown disturbance. On the scene, police encountered Rahsaan Boynes, of the 1000 block of Willow Street, his girlfriend, Rolanda Speller, 27, of the 800 block of Kohn Street, and another male by a tan Buick on the northbound lane of Pawlings Road. It was reported that Boynes and Speller were both observed to have injuries consistent with a physical fight. Further signs of an altercation were observed on the ground and on the driver’s side door of the car. West Norriton Police have a suspect in custody in the incidents but are still searching for his alleged accomplice.
According to The Times Herald, West Norriton Police are searching for another suspect in two incidents last week in which a Philadelphia man shot at a potential robbery victim in West Norriton and assaulted another in Norristown. Police say 21-year-old Kyante Blakely, of Philadelphia, attempted to rob a pizza delivery guy who was making a delivery at on N. Montgomery Ave. in West Norriton at approximately 10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27. According to the victim, Blakely reportedly got out of a burgundy Ford Taurus with tinted windows with his face covered.
