Charges Held for Alleged Scrap Metal Thief

Jack McAfee, 29, of Norristown, allegedly attempted to steal scrap metal from Del-Val International on Bethlehem Pike earlier in December

A Norristown man, who was allegedly found attempting to steal scrap metal from inside an exterior bin at Del-Val International Truck on Bethlehem Pike on Dec. 8, had a misdemeanor charge of theft and a summary charge of defiant trespassing held over for county arraignment Jan. 30 following a preliminary hearing in Montgomeryville on Dec. 17. Jack Lee McAfee Jr., 29, had his bail reduced from $5,000 cash to $5,000 unsecured at the hearing, according to court records. The building alarm went off at Del-Val International Truck on Bethlehem Pike on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2:17 a.m., and K9 Duke and handler Officer Daniel Rose sprung into action. Duke got track of a scent at the 1034 Bethlehem Pike facility, and it led him to a metal storage …
