Crowds of supporters and community leaders turned out Thursday night for the Greater Norristown Police Athletic League's 12th annual International Food & Wine Festival at Plymouth Country Club and Patch was there to document the occasion. Proceeds from the annual event go to support the GNPAL's mission to "serve the youth and families of the Greater Norristown community with recreational, educational, and cultural programs addressing citizenship, self-esteem, avoidance of substance abuse, and respect for law and order." It's considered by some to be the party of the year for Norristown-area residents (possibly rivaled only by the Elmwood Park Zoo's Oktoberfest) and it's happening tonight. The Greater Norristown Police Athletic League's 12th Annual International Food & Wine Festival takes over the Plymouth Country Club at 888 Plymouth Road with almost two dozen local eateries and vendors offering food, wine, drinks and live entertainment to supporters of PAL. The event runs Thursday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. and tickets are only $50. You can purchase tickets at the door or on the organization's website.
