Police Investigating Series of Strong Arm Robberies

Last week saw two robberies and one attempted hold-up in three days.

According to The Times Herald, the Norristown Police Department is investigating a rash of strong arm robberies that occurred over three days last week. On Wednesday, April 25, shortly before 1:30 a.m., a masked man reportedly demanded money from the clerk at the APlus at Main Street and Haws Avenue, but left empty-handed when the clerk ran to the back room to call police. The clerk described the suspect as white male wearing a dark-colored shirt and jeans. On Thursday, April 26, shortly before 2 p.m., a victim reported being hit in the back of the head while walking in the 500 block of East Main Street by a man who then stole his wallet and $217 in cash. The victim saw the suspect as he fled the scene south and described him as a black …

Police Searching for 7-Eleven Bandit

Two area 7-Elevens were robbed within 24 hours by what police believe is the same suspect.

According to The Times Herald, the Norristown and West Norriton police departments are searching for information on the robberies of two area 7-Elevens in the last two days. According to reports, at around 3 a.m. Monday, March 12, the 7-Eleven at 1501 West Main Street in West Norriton was held up by a masked gunman. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt, a black knit hat, black sneakers and black gloves. The robber also covered his face with a blue bandanna. Nearly 24 hours later, on Tuesday, March 13, the 7-Eleven at 708 East Johnson Highway in Norristown was held up by what police suspect is the same man.
