Ambulance Strikes Vehicle in East Norriton [PHOTOS]

An ambulance crashed into a passenger vehicle around 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon, sending multiple people to the hospital.

A Saturday afternoon crash involving an ambulance and a passenger vehicle sent multiple people to the hospital. According to Patch reader Kristian Konetzny, who was on the scene, the ambulance struck the vehicle at the intersection of Germantown Pike and Stanbridge in East Norriton shortly after 5 p.m. It is unknown who – if anyone – was at fault at this time. Konetzny said via email that the driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition, and ambulance personnel were also transferred to local hospitals from the scene. Accident Closes West Main at Noble Tuesday

Police and EMS responded to the scene Tuesday morning for a vehicle accident with reported injuries.

Norristown Police shut down one side of West Main Street between Buttonwood and Noble streets Tuesday morning for a car accident that involved injuries to at least one person. Few details are available on the nature of the accident, but police and EMS responded to Buttonwood and West Main streets shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30 for a report of an accident with injuries. According to a witness on the scene, the westbound lane of West Main Street was closed off at Noble while authorities dealt with the incident. The condition of the injured party is unknown at this time.  Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

Three Residents, Two Firefighters Injured in East Norriton Fire

Firefighters from several companies battled the blaze in extreme conditions.

At least five people were reported injured in a house fire in the 3000 block of Whitehall Road in East Norriton overnight. According to Norriton Fire Engine Company Capt. Derek Thomas, three civilians and two firefighters sustained injury battling the blaze in extremely cold conditions. Norriton Fire Engine Company responded to the call sometime after 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Jan. 23, with assistance from Worcester and Jefferson fire companies. Plymouth Ambulance, East Norriton Police and East Norriton Public Woks also responded to the scene. At Least One Injured in Ceiling Collapse on West Main Street

Part of the ceiling collapsed in the Crossroads Thrift & Gift today and injured at least one person.

Little details are available at this time, but at least one person was reported injured this morning when a portion of the ceiling inside the Crossroads Thrift & Gift at 139 West Main Street shortly before 10am this morning. PenSTAR was dispatched to the area to transport the victim to an area hospital and the victim's condition is unknown at this time. Norristown Code Enforcement has closed the building and are not allowing anyone to enter the scene until further notice. Norristown Patch will have more information as it becomes available.
