A dinner honoring the recently retired trio is planned for Friday, April 26 at Westover Country Club.
The West Norriton Township Police Department has announced plans for retirement dinner honoring retired West Norriton Police Chief Robert P. Adams, Deputy Chief Joseph L. Hallman and Administrative Assistant Phyllis Byndas. Both Chief Adams and Deputy Chief Hallman retired on Dec. 31, 2012. Byndas retired prior to that, but all three were longtime employees of the township. The retirement dinner will be held Friday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Westover Country Club, 401 South Schuylkill Avenue in West Norriton. The dinner will feature tossed salad, a choice of salmon or prime rib, sugar snap peas, twice-baked potatoes and cheesecake for dessert. West Norriton Police Chief Robert Adams retired on Monday, along with 44-year-public safety veteran Sgt. Joseph Hallman. Former Deputy Chief Dale Mabry was sworn in as the new Chief of Police.
Two long-standing icons of West Norriton law enforcement – West Norriton Police Chief Robert Adams and Sgt. Joseph Hallman – retired on Monday, Dec 31, and were sent off in style when the entire police force (along with representatives from other township departments and neighboring police departments) escorted both men from their homes for their final ride to the station as police officers. Once back at the station, Chief Adams (now former) announced that the West Norriton Township Board of Commissioners had decided that in honor of Sgt.
