Sixteen-year-old Jazmine Denby had been missing since April 30.
The 16-year-old Norristown girl reported missing by county authorities on Wednesday has returned home. According to Norristown Police Detective Lt. Michael Crescitelli, Jazmine Denby reported to school Thursday morning. She was reportedly unharmed. Cpl. Adam Schurr told The Times Herald that her father would collect her from school. Sixteen-year-old Angela Vega-Yohn has been missing since Tuesday.
The Montgomery County ReadyNotifyPA system issued an alert on Thursday about a missing teenage girl being sought by Philadelphia Police. According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, 16-year-old Angela Vega-Yohn was last seen on Tuesday, March 19. Authorities believe she may still be in the area, though she may also be traveling to Virginia. She may also be in need of medical attention. 73-year-old John Smith was discovered tangled in some brush in a wooded area near the Regatta Apartments and the 1000 block of Main Street
Authorities have confirmed that 73-year-old John Smith, who had been missing since early Thursday morning, March 7, was found Monday evening. Smith is reportedly safe and currently being treated at Mercy Suburban Hospital for exposure and related minor injuries. According to Norristown Police Lt. Todd Dillon, Smith was discovered entangled in some brush in a wooded area between the Regatta Apartments off Sandy Hill Road and the 1000 block of East Main Street. He was examined by emergency medical personnel at the scene and transported to the hospital for further treatment. Residents are seeing increased police presence on the streets of Norristown Friday morning, as officers scour the area for signs of John Smith, the 73-year-old man who went missing from his home in the 500 block of Arch Street early Thursday morning. Smith, who suffers from Alzheimer’s was last seen near his home at around 7 a.m. on Thursday morning and police have continued to search for him through the night. Smith is described as 6’ tall, 180 lbs. with salt and pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a black fleece sweatshirt and black pants. Smith usually wears eyeglasses. Sean Quinn, 46, died Monday morning of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Philadelphia's FDR Park, township police said.
Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch is reporting that 46-year-old Lower Merion police officer Sean Quinn was found dead Monday morning in South Philadelphia. Quinn died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Lower Merion Police Superintendent Michael McGrath. The township released the following statement at 12:23 p.m. Monday: Lower Merion Police Superintendant Michael McGrath regrets to report that Officer Sean Quinn, a respected veteran of the force, was found this morning deceased as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Twenty seven-year-old Nelson Mandela Myers said the young girl reminded him of his own daughter.
Nelson Mandela Myers is the hero of the hour. The 27-year-old told NBC10 he was passing by a playground near the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby, on his way to work at a Norristown-based sanitation company, when he heard the 5-year-old missing girl's cries for help. Myers told the press he found her hiding under a sliding board, barefoot and shivering and she told him she was being chased. He said he wrapped a jacket around her and called 911. "I just wanted to do the same thing that someone would do for my child," Nelson Mandela Myers said. Tik Yam Lam, who had recently moved to Philadelphia from New Jersey, hasn't been seen in more than six weeks.
Tik Yam Lam walked out of his Center City apartment a little more than six weeks ago, with no access to a car and just the clothes on his back, and seemingly disappeared. The Philadelphia resident, who has relatives in Cherry Hill, N.J., may have been spotted twice since leaving his home Nov. 13, but his family and authorities are still searching for the 72-year-old man. Friends of the family say there have only been a few hints at where Lam may have gone following his disappearance — they had a report of an elderly Asian man walking along the shoulder of a highway in the Lower Merion/Tredyffrin area on Nov. 14, more than 13 miles from Lam’s apartment.
