Norristown Sanitation Worker Finds Missing Philadelphia Girl
Twenty seven-year-old Nelson Mandela Myers said the young girl reminded him of his own daughter.
Nelson Mandela Myers is the hero of the hour. The 27-year-old told NBC10 he was passing by a playground near the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby, on his way to work at a Norristown-based sanitation company, when he heard the 5-year-old missing girl's cries for help. Myers told the press he found her hiding under a sliding board, barefoot and shivering and she told him she was being chased. He said he wrapped a jacket around her and called 911. "I just wanted to do the same thing that someone would do for my child," Nelson Mandela Myers said.
