Crews Upgrading Sewer Lines Along Buttonwood Street

The repairs will help with rainwater runoff and preventing sewer main backups.

According to the Herald, starting in July, property owners will receive three consecutive sewer bills for the equivalent of four months' worth of sewer charges. In April 2014, after three such …

Sewer Authority workers put out the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene.

According to The Times Herald, a Municipal Waste Authority worker suffered minor burns to his hands when a fire erupted at a pump outside the sewer plant on East Washington Street shortly after 10 a.m. this morning. “Apparently an employee was filling the gas pump with a gas can and gas got onto the motor,” Norristown Fire Chief Tom O’Donnell told The Herald. Workers on the scene were able to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene. The injured man was taken to an area hospital to be treated for burns on both hands.
