East Norriton ShopRite Makes Plans to Open Restaurant

Restaurant in ShopRite will serve craft beer.

With grocery stores like Wegmans and Whole Foods adding pubs and wine  focused restaurants in the supermarkets, now smaller grocery store chains are getting into the restaurant game. ShopRite stores, with 10 locations in the Philadelphia region, including on on Germantown Pike in East Norriton, has begun the process to open a restaurant at the East Norriton store, according to a report in Philly.com. The company has recently applied for a liquor license, however, the restaurant, which will serve craft beer, is part of a larger renovation at the supermarket and "won't open for at least a year."

Mamma T's Recipes

Mamma T's Sautéed Chicken & Anything Salad

Here's a simple salad your whole family will love.

Last week, we covered how to make your own croutons at home, putting to use those leftover bread slices. This week we'll get into the salad. Yes, anyone can make a salad, but this is how I make mine. I hope you like it. The directions for the salad dressing are on the Good Seasons package. Mix according to the directions and be sure to shake well. I hope you try your own version of this salad.  It is also tasty with grilled flank steak or shrimp or salmon.  Let us know your version of a perfect salad. You can get all you need to build a great salad at these local supermarkets: Genuardi's, 25 W. Germantown Pike or 1930 W. Main Street. ShopRite 55 E. Germantown Pike.
