Norristown Athletes Shine at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – The Norristown girls' relay team saved their best for their final race on Saturday afternoon, and made their appearance at the Penn Relays a success. The 4x100 foursome of Rowanna Watson, Alexis Bell, Ciara Heath and Zayna Milligan won the High School Tri-State Championship race at Franklin Field with a 48.24 time, surprising many who expected local power Abington or New Jersey's Paramus Catholic to cross first. But when Abington's Leah Nugent and Jordan Matthews – who later would combine with Nicole Grasty and Rachel Strother to win the 4x400 equivalent – muffed the baton exchange, Norristown charged.
