Truck That Crashed in Norristown was Hauling Recycling for Another Company

T&D Trucking, the New Jersey-based company that owns the waste truck, was contracting for a Philadelphia company when the accident occurred.

  The truck that lost its brakes and crashed through the intersection at Main and Markley streets on Monday, July 2, was subcontracting for a Philadelphia-based company, hauling paper from a nearby J.P. Mascaro & Sons facility, according to the company's owner and other sources. Information about T&D Trucking Disposal Logistics, Inc., the New Jersey-based company that owns that truck, was initially scarce. Only one business listing for the company could be found, listing the address as 2 Mississippi Trail in Turnersville, N.J. – a private residence. Police Release Details of July 2 Truck Crash in Norristown

Details about the New Jersey company that owns the truck are scarce and efforts to locate them are, so far, unsuccessful.

  The Norristown Police Department has released the report on the July 2 accident in which a truck crashed through the intersection of Main and Markley streets and ended up on the SEPTA tracks, snarling traffic and train service for hours. According to police, shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, July 2, a municipal waste tractor trailer, registered to a New Jersey trucking company and being driven by a Philadelphia man, was traveling north on 202 from King of Prussia when he approached the intersection at Main and Markley and tried to stop for a steady red light. They do have the info for the driver, but he's not returning phone calls. Not sure how deep the police are getting into the investigation. It may just be a civil matter now if the driver isn't charged with anything. I haven't been able to talk with any of the officers involved in the investigation or the chief about it yet.
